Is Wallfly really free?

Yes. All Wallfly features are free and open source, including AI features. No subscription or paywall. Local models have no API fees; optional cloud providers bill you directly for usage.

Does it work completely offline?

Yes, in local mode. Transcription runs locally in the OpenWhispr app (installed separately), and summaries run on a local model on your computer. You only need internet once, to download the models.

Where are my notes stored?

Notes, transcripts and meeting files live in a local library. Wallfly has no cloud storage. If you choose cloud processing, the required audio or text is sent to that provider.

Do other participants notice? Do I need their consent?

No bot joins, so nothing shows up in the call. Rules for recording differ by country and company, so let people know you are taking notes.

Does it work with Zoom and Google Meet?

Yes. Wallfly captures the meeting audio on your computer, so it works with Microsoft Teams, Google Meet and Zoom. Automatic meeting detection currently works for Teams (on Mac, through the Accessibility permission). For other apps, start recording manually.

Can I integrate Wallfly into my AI workflows?

Yes. Built-in Model Context Protocol (MCP) support connects Wallfly to compatible AI tools and workflows. It is included for free.

Which transcription and summary models can I use?

Transcription: Deepgram (Nova-3), OpenAI, or Whisper Large V3 Turbo running locally through OpenWhispr.

Summaries and Enhanced Notes: OpenAI, Anthropic (Claude), or any OpenAI-compatible API, including local models. Bring your own key; cloud providers may charge for usage.

Which computers are supported? Does it run on Windows?

Wallfly is available for Mac first. It needs Apple Silicon (M1 or newer) and macOS 26 or later. A Windows version is coming later.
